But in order to prepare for the upcoming UE5 upgrade, we\u2019re skipping Patch 11.01 and making any changes scheduled for this patch with 11.02, coming July 29th.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-heading-6880b53560965\" class=\"esi-heading \">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"valorant_moves_over_to_unreal_engine_5-2\">VALORANT Moves Over to Unreal Engine 5<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-6880b5356138b\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>VALORANT will soon reach it&#8217;s fifth anniversary this summer and Riot Games announced big changes coming to the esports title, from a replay system to the UE5 switch.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-6880b53561d9a\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>The game engine overhaul has been confirmed to release for Patch 11.02, which is scheduled to take place on July 29th, 2025, though a specific time was not shared.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-6880b535626f9\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>First announced through the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/KYGEfQJPqW8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Unreal Fest Seattle 2024 showcase<\/a>, a lot of fans are excited for what&#8217;s likely to be the most drastic change the game has seen yet. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/VALORANT\/comments\/1lj1uua\/ue5_update_but_what_about_60_fps_players\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">others are concerned<\/a> that the update may bring in more problems than solutions, considering the mixed performance UE5 has experienced in other titles. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/allvalorant.gg\/valorants-unreal-engine-5-update-is-almost-here-what-you-need-to-know-before-july-29th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Allvalorant.gg<\/a>, Riot Games recently released an FAQ addressing the biggest concerns surrounding the update.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-6880b53562d39\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>The game package itself will actually be &#8216;smaller than before the upgrade,&#8217; according to the developer. However, it will require at least 30GB of free space on PC hard drives to install, a one-time instance and will not be permanent. It has also shared that the update will improve performances on low-end PC&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-6880b53563362\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>This change will undoubtedly affect upcoming VALORANT esports events after July 29th. For example, the update will take place near the beginning of <a href=\"https:\/\/liquipedia.net\/valorant\/VCT\/2025\/Game_Changers\/North_America\/Stage_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VCT Game Changers North America Stage 2<\/a>, which is running from July 28th to September 10th, 2025.
